Letterpress Workshop - Print your own business cards

This 1/2 day course has been developed for you to print your own business cards using photopolymer plates. We will talk you through the design process prior to you coming to us and have your plates ready for action.  You will print 100 standard sized business cards in one colour on to a 350gsm colorplan pristine white, other paper colours will be available after prior consultation and also if you want to print more than one colour. Contact us before to sort your requirements.

You will have an introduction to the printing presses that we have here but if you already have your own press that we feature we can concentrate on that.  You will be introduced to the process of mixing your own ink and make ready, making sure that you get those perfect prints. We’ll also look at the different types of papers used in letterpress printing, for different types of work

We will consult with you on design prior to you attending the workshop and have your plate ready for action.

We will spend the afternoon printing your business cards, that you can take away with you.

The price for our workshop is based on one person attending, but if you would like to bring a guest and work on the same project that will be fine, but there is a small additional payment.

PLEASE NOTE: These workshops are not suitable for children under 12 (due to the strength and patience needed to operate the press), or those who cannot stand for long periods of time. If you have any questions about this please do drop us a line.

It’s worth booking when your design is complete and confirming dates with us then, if you know your dates but have no design, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

Our workshops are based on a 1 to 1 workshop, but you are OK to bring a guest if they are working on the same design.  We can offer 2 person workshops, where each person works on their own design, the price for this will be twice the single person cost and there will be times when there will be more than one other person in the workshop.

Cancellation Policy: Because we work with your dates, there should be no reaason to cancel but we appreciate that sometimes things happen that mean a change in plans.  If we can change your date to another day, this can be done at no extra cost. Two weeks’ notice of cancellation is required for a full refund, unless we are able to fill your spot with less notice, in which case we will always do our best to be flexible.
