Letterpress Workshop - Full Day 1 on 1

This full 1 day course has been developed for you to print your own work using photopolymer plates. We will talk you through the design process prior to you coming to us and have your plates ready for action.  You will print 100 A5 pieces in one colour on to a 300gsm GMUND Cotton, other paper colours will be available after prior cusultation and also if you want to print more than one colour. Contact us before to sort your requirements. We can also print a size other than A5, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

You will have an introduction to the printing presses that we have here but if you already have your own press that we feature we can concentrate on that.  You will be introduced to the process of mixing your own ink and make ready, making sure that you get those perfect prints. We’ll also look at the different types of papers used in letterpress printing, for different types of work.

We aim to run this workshop on our Chandler and Price Vintage Press.  The cost of the course includes printing 100 pieces on to a lovely GMUND Cotton 300gsm board. The course cost includes the time prior to the printing day to go through your supplied design and getting the artwork and plates ready for you.  We will also look at other processes during the day including thermo and bronzed parts of the invitations.

We will consult with you on your design prior to you attending the workshop and have your plate ready for action.

We will spend the afternoon printing your Invitations, that you can take away with you.

The price for our workshop is based on one person attending. This is so we can dedicate all of our time to you

PLEASE NOTE: These workshops are not suitable for children under 12 (due to the strength and patience needed to operate the press), or those who cannot stand for long periods of time. If you have any questions about this please do drop us a line.

It’s worth booking when your design is complete and confirming dates with us then, if you know your dates but have no design, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

Our full day courses have been designed to run on a Saturday or Sunday, this allows us plenty of undisturbed time to turn your designs into a reality.

As this workshop covers the entire day we would recommend that you bring some lunch to to keep you going, we will break for lunch but how long you spend eating is up to you.  Tea and coffee will be on tap, as much as you need as well as other, obviously healthy, snacks… ( cake!)

As we are based on the Isle of Wight, a beautiful place which needs some exploring, we understand that travelling here isn’t as simple as going to somewhere on the mainland.  If you would like to come as a foot passenger on one of the ferries to keep costs down, we are happy to collect you from East Cowes Ferry port, Fishborne or one of the many in Ryde.  Please get in touch if you have any questions about this.

Cancellation Policy: Because we work with your dates, there should be no reason to cancel but we appreciate that sometimes things happen that mean a change in plans.  If we can change your date to another day, this can be done at no extra cost. Two weeks’ notice of cancellation is required for a full refund, unless we are able to fill your spot with less notice, in which case we will always do our best to be flexible.
